Martin Luther Christian University came into existence as a private university in the year 2005 as a pioneering Christian university in Meghalaya with a view to rendering services to the people North Eastern region by providing opportunities in the field of projects, research and activism for social and development concerns.

The mission of the university as laid down is “To contribute to the sustainable development of Meghalaya and the North East India, while upholding and preserving its cultural heritage by providing knowledge and skills that will enable our students to become global citizens”

With a shift against the conventional institutionalized education MLCU offers experimental curriculum rather than traditional curriculum by putting emphasis on formative evaluation: self evaluation as key ingredient.

1. B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology
Eligibility- 10+2 with physics, chemistry and biology
Duration- 3 years (6 semester)
Lateral Entry:
Direct to 3rd Semester
Pass in Two Years Diploma Medical Laboratory Technology.

2. B.Sc Medical Imaging Technology
Eligibility- 10+2 with physics, chemistry and biology
Duration- 3 years (6 semester)
Lateral Entry:
Direct to 3rd Semester
Pass in Two Years Diploma Medical Laboratory Technology.

3. B.Sc Surgical Technology
Eligibility- 10+2 with minimum 45% average marks with physics, chemistry and biology
Duration- 3 year (6 years)

4. B.Sc Optometry
Eligibility- 10+2 with physics, chemistry and biology
Duration- 3 year (6 semester)

Direct to 3rd Semester
Pass in Two Years Diploma in Opthalmic Assistant.

5. Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant (BSc PA)
Eligibility- 10+2
Duration- 3 ½ Years

6. Bachelor of Business Administration
Eligibility- 10+2 in any stream
Duration- 3 years (6 semester)

7. Bachelor of Computer Applications
Eligibility- 10+2 in any stream
Duration- 3 years (6 semester)

8. Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)
Eligibility- 10+2 in any stream
Duration- 3 years (6 semester)

9. Master of Social Work (MSW)
Eligibility- Any bachelor’s degree
Duration- 2 years

10. MSc counselling psychology
Eligibility- Any bachelor’s degree
Duration- 2 years (4 semesters)

11. MA Christian Management
(in collaboration with the Christian Institute of Management, Chennai, India)
Duration-2 1/2 years (5 semesters)
Eligibility- Any bachelor’s degree

12. MA Traditional Music
Duration- 2 years (4 semesters)
Eligibility- Any bachelor’s degree with a formal certificate in music

13. Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA)
Duration- 1 year (2 semesters)
Eligibility- Any bachelor’s degree

14. Post Graduate Diploma in Peace Studies (PGDPS)
Duration-1 year (2 semesters)
Eligibility- Any bachelor’s degree

Candidates with at least 5 years of ministry experience will be preferred. The course is primarily for working professionals who may be admitted as in-service candidates. Students who are enrolled in preparatory education for church service may be admitted, but the project work can be done only after they commence working.

15. Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Microbiology
(PGDAM: 2 specializations: agri-science and clinical)
Duration- 1 year plus a six-month internship
Eligibility- A Bachelor’s degree in any branch of life sciences. The course is recommended for graduates in life sciences including agriculture, allied health, nursing, pharmacology, biotechnology, environment and other biological disciplines.

16. M.A. in Mission and Development Practice
(in collaboration with EFICOR, New Delhi)
Duration- 2 years (4 semesters)
Eligibility- A basic graduate degree in any discipline with a minimum of three years work experience preferably development-related.
